Doctor Jonathan Cartu Says – In-place repair upgrade : W10 2004

I have been having problems recently, due to Windows Defender and a PUP that got on to the system.

If all else fails, I may have to do an in-place repair (as I have done previously).

Cannot seem to resolve the issue with Defender, and other things may be wrong.

I have recently got the Feature Update to W10 2004, and created a USB stick using the Media Creation Tool 2004, the ISO and Rufus.

What I need to know is: do I follow the same procedure that I did with previous builds ?  I want to keep apps, files and settings (as with previous repairs).

Or does that differ with W10 2004 ?  I know there have been a number of changes recently, but not sure exactly what.

Any advice and instructions offered will be gratefully received.

Thank you.
