A Fort Worth man convicted of sexually exploiting children as young as 9 was sentenced this week to 80 years in federal prison, authorities said.
Tyrone Alexander Taylor, 42, pleaded guilty in October to two counts of sexual exploitation of a child as well as to possessing images of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
“This sentence, essentially a life sentence, exemplifies the seriousness of this horrible conduct – one committed against the most vulnerable among us,” said Erin Nealy Cox, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas.
According to court documents, FBI agents launched the investigation after a computer repair business reported discovering child pornography on a hard drive owned by Taylor. After reviewing the images with a business representative, agents seized the hard drive and conducted a forensic review of the device.
Taylor admitted owning the hard drive said it contained a number of child pornography videos and images, with some of the victims as young as 9.
Taylor’s codefendant, Shannon Nichols, was sentenced in February to 50 years in federal prison. The two created images of child pornography that Taylor meticulously stored on his computer, authorities said.
